About Vicky
Vicky has worked for 27 years in various settings in the private and public sector, supporting young people and adults with complex needs to develop skills. She has 15 years’ experience working for the probation service predominantly with mentally disordered offenders including personality disorder. She has also worked at the Prince’s Trust with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties to build their employability skills.
She has experience of utilising various strategies to enable somebody to communicate effectively from prompt cards and visual aids to offering distractions to reduce anxieties whilst communicating.
The important part of this is ensuring that strategies are understood by others and used consistently to promote their use with the person and professionals or families. More recently as a Registered Intermediary she has facilitated more than 200 witnesses to give their evidence to the police in ABE interviews and in the court environment.
Vicky is The Intermediary Cooperative’s Finance Director.
